Calibrating Bulk Built-in Current Sensors for Detecting Transient Faults
نویسندگان
چکیده
This work presents a novel circuit for detecting transient faults in combinational and sequential logic. The detection mechanism features a built-in current sensor connected to the bulks of the monitored logic. The proposed circuit was optimized in terms of power consumption and enhanced with low-power sleep-mode. In addition, a calibration method for bulk built-in current sensors is presented. Overhead results indicate an increase of only 15% in power consumption which represents an improvement of almost factor 6 compared to similar existing

Bulk built in current sensors for single event transient detection in deep-submicron technologies
As device dimensions are scaled down, single event transients (SET) are increasingly affecting the reliability of integrated circuits. An SET is a transient voltage perturbation caused by an energetic particle strike at the semiconductor. This work studies the applicability of bulk built in current sensors (bulk-BICS) for SET detection in deep-submicron technologies. The bulk-BICS detects the t...
متن کاملUsing an Appropriate Controller for Independent Current Control for Motoring of Force Windings of Bearing less Induction Motor
A bearingless induction machine has combined characteristics of induction motor and magnetic bearings. Therefore, the advantages are small size and low-cost. In the magnetic suspension of the bearingless motors, suspension forces are generated based on the feedback signals of displacement sensors detecting the movement of the rotor shaft. The suspension forces are generated taking an advantage ...
متن کاملtransformer differential protection using the fault-generated high-frequency transient components
Power transformers are the most important components of a power system, so their protection is a critical issue. This paper proposes a novel and efficient algorithm based on the high-frequency components of the differential current signal to discriminate between the magnetizing inrush currents and the internal faults. After detecting the over-current in the differential current signals, samples...
متن کاملCross Entropy-Based High-Impedance Fault Detection Algorithm for Distribution Networks
The low fault current of high-impedance faults (HIFs) is one of the main challenges for the protection of distribution networks. The inability of conventional overcurrent relays in detecting these faults results in electric arc continuity that it causes the fire hazard and electric shock and poses a serious threat to human life and network equipment. This paper presents an HIF detection algori...
متن کاملOptimal SQUID based non-destructive test for detecting sub-surface defects with the help of advanced SQUID superconducting sensors and an experimental approach for optimal production method of these sensors from the YBCO superconductor materials
The conventional eddy current method for non-destructive inspection of welding joints has limitations that can examine defects to a certain depth below the surface of the sample and is not suitable for determining deep defects. This limitation can be overcome using the SQUID superconducting sensors. The nonstoichiometric composition of YBCO due to its superconducting temperature and desired cri...
